Apply for hygiene waste collection

To request this service someone in the house must produce hygiene waste. This can be because of a medical condition.

You can put your hygiene waste in your general waste bin if you have enough room. 

The hygiene service is a 2 weekly collection service. We will collect your hygiene waste at the same time as your general waste.

There is no charge for this service.

How the service works

A member of the waste team will need to visit your property. This visit is to assess you meet the criteria.

We will review your application depending on the individual circumstances. This will either be a short-term review (3 monthly) or an annual review.

You may be asked to provide evidence to support your application.

If you’re eligible for an extra bin, this is for hygiene waste only.

Once your request has been submitted it cannot be amended.

• Colostomy / stoma bags
• Adult incontinence pads
• Plastic gloves
• Disposable aprons

Hygiene products we won’t collect.

• Sanitary waste
• Clinical waste (for example needles)
• Pet litter / waste
• Puppy pads
• Catheters
• Infectious waste (for example, plasters and bandages)
