Additional Learning Needs

My child has additional learning needs and is doing very well in school.

Children with additional needs make friends in their local school and community. All school staff teams have training on providing what’s important for your child. We also have specialist Welsh speaking staff who can support staff in schools.

Some children may need more specific support. They may need to access a Specialist Resource Base (SRB) placement.

Ysgol Cwm Derwen has our Welsh SRB for Primary age children.

Ysgol Gyfun Cwm Rhymni has 2 specialist provisions. Hafan is on the Gwyndy site and Y Ganolfan at the Gellihaf site. Our Secondary age young people who need more specific support can feel included.
