Locality teams

Children's Services locality teams support families to stay together, wherever it is safe to do so, through the provision of early intervention and prevention services.

There are six geographically located teams, who undertake high quality assessments and care management of children and their families, who have been assessed as requiring on going social services intervention.

We cover both short and long-term work, including Children in Need of Care and Support, Children Looked After, Child Protection and court work and adoption.

We manage risk confidently and provide support to children at the ‘edge of care’ and give children and young people clearly planned journeys through care which remain focused on achieving outcomes, preventing drift and enabling reunification
