Housing benefit payments schedule
If you are claiming Housing Benefit, payments are normally paid every 4 weeks and are made in arrears which means the payment you receive is for the previous 4 weeks.
Payments are made either by cheque or directly into your bank account. If you would like future payments paid directly into your bank account please complete our BACS form.

Please note the following:
These are the dates that we make the payment. You will need to allow 2-3 working days before you will actually receive the payment. If the payment is due on a bank holiday there may be a delay in receiving the payment.
If you have made a new claim we will try to make a one off payment to you as soon as possible to bring you into line with the payment cycle so that you don't have to wait until the next regular 4 weekly payment date
