Relief and exemptions

Find information on different types of rate relief that you may be entitled to claim. Some types of rate relief available in Wales, or the criteria and amount of relief available will be different to that available in England.

  • Small business rate relief

    Most businesses with a RV of £12,000 or less qualify for some help.

    Local Rate Relief Scheme 2021/22

    In December 2021, our Business Rate Team issued amended bills to known qualifying ratepayers following the Council’s Cabinet approving a local rate relief scheme for the financial year 2021/22, funded by the Welsh Government.

  • Transitional rate relief

    For qualifying properties, transitional relief will only apply to a non-domestic rate liability falling within the period 1 April 2017 and 31 March 2020.
