Gwnewch y Pethau Bychain - Make One Small Change

Each month we will be challenging staff and residents to make one small change to help to further their use and understanding of the Welsh language and to ensuring Caerphilly County Borough remains an inclusive place to work and live.

This month we are encouraging you to head to your local library and pick up a book you wouldn’t usually read.
Weather you read a book in Welsh or opt for a book on equalities, our libraries have a great selection for you to choose from.

Some of our librarian’s Welsh book recommendations are below:

Tu ol i'r awyr, Megan Angharad Hunter
A pioneering début novel by a talented young writer. It follows the journey of two teenage characters, Deian and Anest, and their amazing relationship through the angst of their lives. A novel that will move you to tears and make you laugh out loud as you wonder at the author's skill in delving deep into the minds of two characters who will remain with you for a long time

Y Bwrdd, Iwan Rhys
If something good came from Brexit, it's this novel! Rhys Iorwerth's review of Y Bwrdd.
Carwyn is bored at work. He'd rather be cooking at home for his partner Laticia and their daughter Alaw Abril. At least everything is as it should be at 8 Cynon Street. But maybe Carwyn hadn't been taking enough notice, until a letter arrives.
In this satiricial rom-com about family, the Welsh language and Brexit, we follow the story from Cardiff, to the Tumble and on to Valencia.

Tractor ar ras, Milbourne, Anna
A story about Doli the mare helping to pull the Cae Berllan tractor out of the water. This is the new hardback edition of a popular series to encourage children to start learning to read themselves, including an opportunity to search for a yellow duck on each page. A Welsh adaptation of The Runaway Tractor.
