This year Youth Work Week took place between was 23rd-30th June with the theme 5 ways to well-being – Give, Connect, Take Notice, Be Active, Keep Learning.

Young people throughout Caerphilly County Borough had the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities in centres, such as mindfulness activities, creating wellbeing bags and positivity jars.

Fun exercise videos were posted on social media channels for all to enjoy and young people also enjoyed a day trip to Barry Island Beach to complete a beach survey as part of a ‘Plastic not Fantastic’ project.

The week also saw the re-opening of the Saturday LGBTQ+ group in the borough, in line with  Pride Month, which had previously been temporarily closed due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Councillor Elaine Forehead, Cabinet Member for Social Care said: “A big thank you to the Youth Team for their involvement in Youth Work Week, and for the work they do throughout the year for the young people in our borough.”
