Cost-of-Living Support Scheme - update 20 July 2022

Welsh Government £150 Cost of Living Support Payment (Main Scheme) – Check if you are eligible and register now!

Between late May and mid-July 2022, we sent a letter to every household eligible under the main scheme not paying their council tax by direct debit, inviting them to register their details with us.

Between now and the end of July we will be issuing a reminder letter to households yet to register, but you don’t need to wait for this letter, you can register now.

This help is in addition to the Cost-of-Living payments currently being paid to benefit claimants by the Department for Work and Pensions.

If you have not yet registered, you can do this by completing a registration form on our website.

Before you register, make sure you have the following:

  • your council tax account number (this is on the letter we are sending you; it will also be on your council tax bill)
  • your bank account name
  • your bank sort code and account number
  • your email address
  • a contact telephone number
  • your date of birth
  • your current address and post code

If you have recently set up a council tax direct debit instruction but have yet to receive your cost-of-living payment, you will now need to register your details on our website before we can pay you.

If you are not eligible under the main scheme, you may be eligible to receive a payment under the discretionary scheme.  Our Discretionary Scheme will be launched shortly. We will update our website and social media channels at that time.
