Owner occupier loans
These are interest free loans available to owner occupiers to carry out essential property improvements and / or works to make homes safe, warm and secure.
Who can apply?
Eligible homeowners in the Caerphilly county borough may apply; provided that they own and live in the property that they require a loan for, or in the case of empty properties, will occupy the property when the work is completed.
If the loan recipient dies, ceases to occupy the property or transfers / sells the property before expiry of the loan term the loan is repaid immediately.
How much could I borrow?
Loans are available from £1,000 to £35,000, with a maximum loan period of 10 years.
How to apply
Due to matters relating to the pandemic, the Council has decided to temporarily suspend the taking of new enquiries for home repair grants. Please note that any emergency requests will still be considered. The situation will be reviewed regularly by housing management and the system will be reinstated at the earliest opportunity.
