Notification for Flood Alleviation Works within Caerphilly County Borough Council

Notice is hereby given that Caerphilly County Borough Council intends to undertake flood alleviation works at the locations identified in the below schedule, under Regulation 5(1) of the above regulations and does not intend to prepare an Environmental Statement as the works are refurbishment of existing structures and are of limited magnitude and spatial impact.

  • Project Ref: TH1403
  • Location / Address: Flood Alleviation Works – Land adjacent to Millbrook House, Mill Road, Deri, Bargoed, CF81 9HF
  • Brief Works Summary: The works involve replacement of existing debris screens within the Nant-y-Felin Watercourse upstream of the footpath and creation of an angled bund to redirect any overflows from the stream channel above the footpath, back into the channel below the footpath.

If you require more details of the scheme, please make an email request to drainage@caerphilly.gov.uk.

The works will provide greater resistance to flooding for residents of Mill Road, Jenkins Row and Bailey Street by allowing storm water to flow freely without obstruction to the Nant Bargod Rhymni.

Representations or objections in respect of the application should be made in writing, giving an address to which correspondence relating to the representation or objection may be sent by email to drainage@caerphilly.gov.uk or by post to Mr Mark Goodger, Principal Engineer (Lead Local Flood Authority), Highways House, Penmaen Depot, Penmaen Industrial Estate, Blackwood, NP12 2DY within 30 days of the date of this notice, quoting the relevant project reference above.
