Discount for people who are not counted for council tax purposes

Your full council tax bill is based on at least two adults living in a property.

Certain people aren't counted when working out the number of adults who live in your home.  Therefore, if only one adult lives at the property who is counted towards council tax, your bill will be reduced by 25%.

Members of visting forces

You will be disregarded for discount purposes if you are a member of a visiting force (or dependant of a member) of certain International Headquarters and Defence Organisations.

Remember, a single person discount (25%) can only be awarded where ONE person remains liable after others have been disregarded, for example, in a three adult household two have to qualify to be disregarded before a discount can be awarded.
