Overview

‘We would like your views on an exciting new Masterplan for the Lower Ebbw and Sirhowy Valleys. The Lower Ebbw and Sirhowy Valleys Masterplan will represent an exciting opportunity to set out the future direction of the area.

The Masterplan will seek to build on the area’s existing strengths by:

  • Enhancing its role as a business, employment, service, retail and sporting centre;
  • Unlocking significant economic growth;
  • Delivering jobs and private sector investment;
  • Fulfilling its potential as a regional hub through the South East Wales Metro initiative.

The Masterplan will identify projects within the Lower Ebbw and Sirhowy Valleys that could deliver substantial economic benefits, and it will provide a framework for the delivery of those projects. It is important to note that these projects are very much draft proposals in order to gauge your views on them. Some of them may change as a result of comments that we receive.

We would very much like to hear what you think of this document and what your priorities for action are.'
