Notification letter
Dear Consultee,
In line with the requirements of the School Organisation Code 2018, we are writing to inform you about a proposal the Council is submitting in relation to a regulated alteration to a maintained school and a school closure.
The proposal is in connection with:
- Close Lewis Girls schools and make a regulated alteration to Lewis Pengam to change from single sex to co-education with effect from September 2025.
The Lewis Girls School site would be retained as a provision to Lewis School Pengam to manage the transition over a number of years. (minimising impact on exam pupils and enabling staff and pupils to be integrated over an appropriate timeframe).
The consultation period will run from the 3rd June 2024 to the 15th July 2024.
