Elective Home Education Policy
Elective home education (EHE) is the term used to describe parents' decision to provide education for their children at home instead of sending them to school. This is different to home tuition provided by a Local Authority or education provided by a Local Authrity other than at a school (EOTAS). This policy is intended for use in relation to EHE only.
The purpose of this policy is to encourage good practice by clearly setting out the legislative position and the roles and responsibilities of the Local Authority, schools and parents/carers in relation to children who are electively home educated.
