Caerphilly Borough’s first Winter Fair of 2022 deemed a great success filled with festive fun
Posted on : 25 Nov 2022
The first of four Winter food and craft fairs happening throughout the borough this year took place in Ystrad Mynach Town Centre on Saturday 19th November. The town centre welcomed an outstanding 9,000 visitors, the highest amount of people to ever attend an event in Ystrad Mynach and the busiest day of the year so far for the town.
The Winter event transformed the town centre with a wide variety of food and craft stalls, stage performances, children’s funfair rides, Santa’s grotto, and entertainment. Local shops and businesses were hugely benefitted from the increase in attendance to the town with 7,700 more visitors compared to the previous Saturday.
Hear what local businesses had to say about the event:
Louise Berry, at Andrew Berry Jewellery, commented “Here at Andrew Berry Jewellery we had a great day Saturday at the Winter Fair - it was great to see the village so full and busy!
Footfall was good for us, not as good as previous years but we are happy with our sales on the day. We are very grateful to CCBC for their continued support and for arranging such a wonderful event!”
Bessy Bella Boutique commented “It was a really great event; it was the boost that we needed, and we had a really good day.”
Cllr Jamie Pritchard, Cabinet Member for Prosperity, Regeneration & Climate Change, said “This is the highest footfall for an Ystrad Mynach event that we have on record! It shows what can be achieved when we all work together to support our town centres. I’d like to thank the traders and residents for their excellent support”.
We are hosting three other Winter food and craft fairs during this year’s festive period at:
Blackwood Town Centre- Saturday 26th November
Caerphilly Town Centre- Saturday 3rd December
Bargoed Town Centre- Saturday 10th December
Come along to one or all of our other FREE Winter Fairs to experience the fun and excitement that only Christmas can bring!
