Childcare Sufficiency Assessment

Looks at the supply and demand of childcare in the Caerphilly county borough

Childcare Sufficiency Assessment

Every 5 years the Welsh Government require every local authority across Wales to undertake a Childcare Sufficiency Assessment. The Caerphilly Childcare Sufficiency Assessment 2022 is a report that brings together a range of different data and information to develop a picture of the current childcare market and to identify whether there are any gaps in supply.

The intention of this report is to provide an assessment of the current levels and types of childcare within Caerphilly County Borough. Following a consultation period, an action plan is developed to identify how best the Local Authority can support families with childcare, across the Caerphilly borough and address any identified gaps in provision.

The Caerphilly Childcare Sufficiency Assessment 2022 sets out the Local Authority results having undertaken a number of consultations with parents/carers, employers, childcare providers, children & young people and wider stakeholders across the borough. The Action Plan sets out the priority action points that will be addressed over the next 5 years.
