Coronavirus - Housing

In order to protect everyone’s safety some council housing offices have been temporarily closed.

We have though introduced opportunities for customers to have face to face meetings with housing officers to provide financial support and assistance to tenants on housing related matters in a number of community venues. Please contact 01443 866534 or email tenancysupportoffice@caerphilly.gov.uk to find a venue near you and book an appointment for tenancy or welfare benefit support and contact 01443 873535 for a housing management appointment.

 Also:

  • Council tenants with repairs can report them to the Centralised Repair Team during normal office hours by calling 01443 864886 or emailing DLOPBE@caerphilly.gov.uk

  • Emergency repairs that occur outside office hours can be reported by calling 01443 875500 or emailing cctv@caerphilly.gov.uk

  • To make rent and other payments, whilst offices are closed, go to make a payment.

  • Any tenants experiencing financial difficulties as a result of the Coronavirus outbreak can call our dedicated finance support line for advice on 01443 866534 or email tenancysupportoffice@caerphilly.gov.uk

  • Support for our older and most vulnerable tenants continues to be delivered through the Careline system. This system is manned by Social Services staff who are able to refer relevant calls to Housing Officers currently working remotely.

  • Any general housing enquiry relating to a tenancy or estate management can be made at UpperRhymneyValleyAHO@caerphilly.gov.uk or by calling 01443 873535.

  • Private Sector Housing enquiries, including grants and loans, housing standards and enforcement matters, and public and private sector adaptations can be made at  www.privatesectorhousing@caerphilly.gov.uk, or by calling 01443 811378 & 811379

Just to let you know that, even during these difficult times, the Supporting People Team are still here to help residents with any housing related support needs.

These include:  

  • Setting up and maintaining a home
  • Preventing evictions/rent arrears/bedroom tax/council tax arrears/TV licence fines
  • Accessing education/volunteering/training/employment
  • Claiming benefits/maximise income/benefit appeals/grant applications
  • Budgeting/managing money/debt management
  • Preventing homelessness
