Assistant Cook
Louise works as part of the kitchen team at Ty’n Y Wern Primary School. She was looking for a change in career from her admin role so began working as a catering assistant as she loved the fast paced environment. She has since progressed to assistant cook, working under the supervision of the cook in charge. Louise said this is the best move she ever made and despite not having any experience she has been trained and fully supported to settle in.
Grade 3: £12.00 p/h
Average Hours: 12hrs – 20hrs

General Kitchen Assistant / Breakfast Supervisor
Naomi is a part of the kitchen team at Ysgol Bro Sannan Primary School. She has worked in many different roles before joining Team Caerphilly as a General Kitchen Assistant and a Breakfast Club Supervisor, where she has settled in well and hopes to one day work her way up to Cook in Charge. Naomi came into this role with no previous experience in catering, but has been full supported by Caerphilly to do the job that she loves.
Grade 1: £12.00 p/h
Average Hours: General Kitchen Assistant: 5hrs – 17.5hrs per week | Breakfast Supervisor: - 5hrs per week
