Committees
These meetings involve debating and approving proposals, as well as decision-making.
Full council meetings
Held every 6 weeks and special council meetings are sometimes held to deal with specific issues.
Cabinet
Responsible for taking important day-to-day decisions within the council.
Scrutiny committees
The council has established a number of scrutiny committees and panels, which collectively oversee the 10 cabinet portfolios.
Regulatory committees
Carry out specific functions given to them under delegated powers.
Advisory committees
We appoint councillors to the various committees, panels, forums, groups and working parties.
