Caerphilly County Borough Carries Out Significant Roundabout Resurfacing
Posted on : 20 Apr 2022
Over the past two years, a programme of roundabout resurfacing has taken place at locations across the county borough.
During this time, 26 roundabouts across the county borough have been resurfaced costing a total £1,734,689. This resurfacing programme has aimed to ensure that Caerphilly’s communities remain connected and that our infrastructure prioritises safety for all road users.
In 2020, a total of 8 sites were resurfaced costing £854,802. This initial programme was expanded upon in 2021 with a further 10 sites being resurfaced costing £495,855. A further 8 sites were then resurfaced in 2021 utilising Welsh Government funding totalling £384,032.
Mark Williams, Corporate Director for Economy and Environment for Caerphilly County Borough Council commented:
“Keeping residents of Caerphilly County Borough connected is an essential part of the provision we provide as a local authority.
“By resurfacing roundabouts across the county borough, we ensure that our infrastructure keeps people moving, but more importantly – keeps residents safe.”
