Students in Caerphilly Celebrate GCSE Results Day 2023
Posted on : 25 Aug 2023
Schools from across Caerphilly county borough are today celebrating GCSE examination results day. Pupils from schools across Caerphilly county borough have been discovering their results and beginning to plan for their next steps.
To mark to occasion, young people from across the county borough have been making the journey to return to their schools to celebrate and reflect on their achievements with teachers and staff and to discover how they performed in these important milestone exams.
Cllr Carol Andrews, Cabinet Member for Education & Communities said, “Well done and congratulations to all the pupils that collected their GCSE results this morning.”
“I want to wish you all the very best going forward, whether you would like to remain in education and obtain you’re a-levels, or if you would like to explore possible apprenticeships and career options.”
“For now, enjoy your celebrations and your summer holidays with your loved ones.”
There are a variety of options for those receiving results including going on to further education in either sixth form or via several colleges within the county borough. Pupils also have the option to search for apprenticeships or employment opportunities.
Keri Cole, the Chief Education Officer for Caerphilly County Borough said,
“To say it has been a tough few years for teachers, parents and guardians and all of those working in education – would be an understatement. But despite the challenges we all work to overcome on a daily basis – this has been yet another successful results day for our county borough.
“I know today will be a proud day for each pupil, regardless of outcome and our amazing school communities will support learners in their next steps.
“To see the commitment and dedication from both staff and students during this year has been inspiring and demonstrates what it means to be a part of ‘Team Caerphilly’ – well done everyone.”
