Caerphilly Enterprise Fund increases three-fold to help local businesses
Posted on : 19 Dec 2022
More local businesses in Caerphilly County Borough have benefited from funding this year, with the Caerphilly Enterprise Fund increasing three-fold compared to 2021.
A combined £151,746 has been granted to support new and established businesses and community enterprises throughout the County Borough.
The Caerphilly Enterprise Fund is aimed at start-ups, and small and medium sized enterprises with less than 250 employees. Applicants to the Fund can receive up to £2,000 towards revenue costs and up to £10,000 towards capital costs for property enhancement can include external and internal works for business premises.
Gatehouse in Caerphilly Town Centre was just one of the local businesses to benefit from the Fund, with funding being used to help renovate the interior of their property to allow for a lounge bar and function rooms.
Lee Edwards Co-Owner of Gatehouse said this about his experience: “At Gatehouse we were lucky enough to qualify for the Caerphilly Enterprise Fund. The funding helped ensure that the work that took place was finished to great standard, and the venue is now an asset to Caerphilly Town Centre. I would highly recommend the Caerphilly Enterprise Fund as it helps develop new businesses like ours where funding is paramount.”
Councillor Jamie Pritchard, Cabinet Member for Prosperity, Regeneration & Climate Change said: “Over the past 4 years, Caerphilly Council has continued to ensure that Caerphilly is a Great Place to do Business through meaningful, localised investments, with a staggering £500m worth of investment to date.
“It is great to see businesses and entrepreneurs taking advantage of funds, such as the Caerphilly Enterprise Fund. We wish them every success for the future.”
While the budget for this financial year has been fully allocated applications will open again from 1st April 2023.
