Caerphilly County Borough Council ask residents to remain vigilant following arson attacks
Posted on : 18 Jul 2022
Caerphilly County Borough Council ask residents to remain vigilant after arsonists target a local park twice in less than five months.
The recent attack of the children’s playground located in Woodfieldside, Blackwood included a seesaw and safer surface being damaged which officer’s estimate will cost approximately £5000 to repair, whereas the first attack earlier this year resulted in over £20,000 in damages.
Councillor Chris Morgan, Cabinet Member for Waste, Leisure & Green spaces said “Whilst Woodfieldside playground is enjoyed by many, it is such a shame that it has been damaged by a small minority.
“We feel that vandals are taking advantage of this park’s remote location and so we are asking our residents to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity.”
If you have any information about this event or to report suspicious contact the police on 101.
