Residents will get the chance to find out more about plans to address the long-standing stability problems along the A469 at a series of engagement events taking place in July.

The land above and below the road has experienced significant movement over recent years - and this is continuing - requiring the need for traffic lights to be put in place to limit the amount of traffic on the road.

CCBC has been working closely with specialist consultants to consider options to help address the ongoing concerns.

Preliminary design options have now been developed and the council is keen to share the proposals with the community, so that everyone understands the scale of works required to address this significant problem.

Residents and businesses are invited to attend a series of special ‘drop in’ sessions over the coming weeks to view plans and discuss any queries or concerns.

Representatives from the council and its consultants will be available to discuss the proposals on the following dates:

  • Rhymney Library - Wednesday 17th July, 11.30am - 3pm
  • Abertysswg Community Centre - Thursday 18th July, 11.45am - 1.00pm
  • St Tyfaelog Church Hall, Pontlottyn - Thursday 18th July, 2.30pm - 5.30pm
  • New Tredegar Library - Friday 19th July, 10.30am - 12.30pm
  • Deri Community Centre - Friday 19th July, 2.30pm - 5.30pm
