Earth Hour 2022 - Switch off for your world
Caerphilly County Borough Council are once again supporting Earth Hour and asking our staff, businesses and residents to switch off any non-essential lights for one hour, from 8.30 – 9.30pm on Saturday 26th of March.

Earth Hour is a worldwide movement organized by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). The event is held annually, encouraging individuals, communities, and businesses to turn off non-essential electric lights, for one hour, as a symbol of commitment to the planet.

Every year, millions of people across the world take part and previously, lights at iconic landmarks around the world including the Wales Millennium Stadium, the Eiffel Tower, the Colosseum, the London Eye, The Empire State Building and the Sydney Opera House, have been switched off as part of the event.

This year, we recognise more than ever that Earth Hour is taking place during a challenging time. It gives us a chance to take a moment in solidarity, coming together to show that we care about the future of our one shared home, the planet.
