Defective planter at Emporium Car park, Bargoed
Caerphilly CBC engineers, Business Enterprise Renewal and Traffic Management Departments have collaborated to address the defective planter at Emporium Carpark.
There is no immediate danger to carpark users. Monitoring and ground investigations suggests the planter foundation has settled. If left unaddressed this wall will continue to settle and possibly overturn necessitating an emergency closure and works to rectify a larger area.
Works are programmed to start on the 4th March 2024 and are expected to last up to a maximum 8 weeks. All parties will endeavour to reduce this programme wherever practicable and safe to do so.
To undertake these works safely, the contractor will take possession of the northern section of the car park for the duration of the works. The section above the snooker hall will remain open as usual.
