Met Office – Yellow Weather Warning for High Winds
The Met Office has issued a Yellow weather warning for strong and potentially damaging winds associated with Storm Ciarán, commencing 21:00 Wednesday 1st November and continuing until 23:59 Thursday 2nd November.

According to Met Office guidance, here is an overview of what to expect across the effected affected area:
  • There is a slight chance that damage to buildings and homes could occur, with roofs blown off, power lines and trees brought down.
  • There is a small chance that flying debris may pose a danger to life.
  • There is a small chance of injuries and danger to life resulting from large waves and beach material being thrown onto sea fronts, coastal roads, and properties.
  • There is a small chance that roads, bridges, and railway lines could close, leading to delays and cancellations in bus, train, ferry services, and flights.
  • In areas where damaging winds occur, there is a possibility of power cuts that may affect other services, including mobile phone coverage.

As always, our dedicated teams across various service areas are prepared and on standby to support the community and address any issues that may arise due to the storm. We urge everyone to exercise caution, especially if you plan to travel during this period, and to stay updated with the latest weather forecasts.
