Operation Santa Appeal 2023
Caerphilly County Borough Council’s annual Operation Santa Appeal launches today!

There are hundreds of children across the borough who are at risk of not receiving a gift this Christmas and Operation Santa aims to provide presents to those nominated by their social workers.

Similar to last year, we are asking residents to pledge cash via our fundraising page so that we can ensure local children receive gifts in time for the big day.

Our pledge line is now open until Monday 27 November and provides a quick and easy way for generous groups and individuals to pledge cash for a child this Christmas simply by visiting our donation page.

If you would prefer to purchase a gift voucher, please do not wrap the voucher, instead place it into an envelope and ensure it is clearly marked with the information below:

  • Title the envelope as ‘Operation Santa’
  • Value of voucher/gift card

Please limit the value of each individual voucher/gift card to £10.00.

The unwrapped gift cards need to be taken to a collection centre by Thursday 30 November.

The collection centres are as follows:

  • Cwrt Rawlin Primary School (CF83 1SN)
  • Barclay’s Bank Ystrad Mynach (CF82 7AA)
  • Caerphilly Library (CF83 1JL)
  • Risca Library (NP11 6BW)
  • Bargoed Library (CF81 8QR)
  • Blackwood Library (NP12 1AJ)

Cllr Elaine Forehead, Cabinet Member for Social Care has said, “With the current cost of living crisis, it is vital to ensure that all children receive a gift this Christmas. Operation Santa is such a worthy cause and can only be achieved through the generous donations from businesses and residents of the borough.

“On behalf of Caerphilly County Borough Council, I would like to thank all of those who have participated in the appeal previously for your donations and continuous support and I know that Operation Santa 2023 will be just as successful as previous years.”
