Newbridge investment brings new play equipment
Posted on : 27 Sep 2021
Newbridge Leisure Centre has seen a £90,000 investment to install a new interactive play equipment in the pool.
The new play features include high and low level water jets, water bowls, water sprays and tipping buckets which can be used by children of all ages and abilities.
The interactive sensory play explores new ways to build confidence in all children allowing them to explore the water environment and challenge children’s visual, auditory and tactile stimuli. Children can engage all their senses through the new water play.
Ross Whiting, the Council’s Cabinet Member for Learning and Leisure, said “It is a fantastic investment for sport and swimming in the county borough. The new facilities provide increased opportunities for children and I am sure will be enjoyed for many years to come”.
All sessions can be pre-booked keeping limited numbers, social distancing and greater sanitisation a priority at Newbridge Leisure Centre. Additional public swims within the timetable are now available to make greater use of the leisure pool.
Following successful swimming lessons, an additional four week block of swimming lessons will commence from Friday 3rd September. The normal Learn 2 Swim programme will resume on the 1st October with a risk assessment in place at each site.
